The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders Alumni Organization (TBBCA) was founded on the belief that the bond formed through years of performing and representing the Buccaneers should last a lifetime. For decades, former cheerleaders stayed connected in small groups, but the dream of an official alumni organization remained just that—a dream. That dream became a reality in 2016 (40 years after the Buccaneers’ inaugural season!) when two alumnae, including Dina Busciglio Sheridan, now the Vice President of TBBCA, joined with Mary May, the first-ever Buccaneers Cheerleader Director and Choreographer and now TBBCA Senior Advisor, to establish an organization that would keep former members engaged with each other and involved in the Tampa Bay community.

 

From the original iconic 1976 Swash-Buc-lers to today’s dynamic and diverse Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders, TBBCA has members from every era and represents the best in excitng dance performers and accomplished professionals from all facets of our community.

With a mission centered around making a difference, TBBCA quickly became an active group in the region. The organization places a special emphasis on mental and physical health, children’s issues, and the performing arts, using its platform to bring awareness and support to these topics. Beyond charitable efforts, TBBCA members remain active in the community through appearances and performances at events both large and small, often in collaboration with the NFL Alumni. Their presence at the National NFL Cheerleader Reunions, held biannually, is always a highlight, with their signature pirate-themed costumes paying tribute to their Buccaneers legacy.

 

At the heart of TBBCA is its slogan, Everyone Needs a Cheerleader. This phrase is more than just words—it is a guiding principle that reinforces the importance of positivity, encouragement, and support, both within the alumnae sisterhood and in the broader community. Whether through philanthropy, performances, or simply maintaining lifelong friendships, TBBCA continues to uphold the spirit of the Buccaneers Cheerleaders, proving that once a cheerleader, always a cheerleader.
